Aviation security training of persons implementing screening of cargo and mail
Training is adjusted for persons implementing screening of cargo and mail, using various screening methods.
Training objective: training of persons implementing security screening of cargo and mail in accordance with European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998, subsection 11.2.3.2.
Training prerequisites:
- The participant has passed a background or pre-employment check in accordance with European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998, subsection 11.1.5.
- The participant must be familiar with dangerous goods regulations in accordance with ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- The participant must be fluent in the language in which training is held.
TRAINING CONTENT (the training includes restricted-access information)
- During the interactive training, the participants acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in implementing security screening of cargo and mail using various methods, including hand search, using x-ray equipment, and other equipment.
- During the training participants develop understanding of aviation security and the role of staff in implementing aviation security measures. Participants learn about the types of threats and recent threat-related developments, as well as measures to reduce and prevent threats.
- After successfully completing the training, participants can implement security screening, identify prohibited articles in cargo and mail consignments, and respond appropriately in emergencies.

Term of validityAfter successfully completing the training, participants receive a certificate, which is valid for 3 years.

An aviation security training instructor certified by the Civil Aviation Agency, Artūrs is responsible for administering TIP data and building and maintaining the TIP library. He develops and teaches training programmes in aviation security, specialising in the use of various security devices and technical equipment, including x-ray equipment, metal detectors, explosives residue sensors, etc.
Artūrs acquired his professional skills as a qualified instructor at a regional training centre of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Aleksandrs Stoļarčuks
Aleksandrs is an aviation security training instructor certified by the Civil Aviation Agency. He develops and teaches training programmes of various levels on aviation security, regulations covering the carriage of cargo and carriage of dangerous goods, specialises in training on the use of various technical equipment, manages the administration of TIP data, and analysis of the behaviour of individuals.
Aleksandrs acquired his professional knowledge in aviation security, crisis management, risk management, carriage of dangerous goods, and conducting training at the regional training centres of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) in Paris, Kyiv, in the training organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Geneva, SAS Spirit Cargo Oslo, and elsewhere.
In 2016, he participated in the certification of Liepāja Airport, consulting and training its staff in aviation security.
He holds a silver Global Safety Network diploma issued by Airport Council International (ACI).
